As US resents Trump, ‘Vladimir Putin’ rides NY Charging Bull with sex toys stuck all over it

New York, July 19: Amid the ruckus, the American spirit has not lost its humour. On Monday, July 16, as US President Donald Trump was making a mess of his first-ever summit with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, a man called Jaffrey Jetton tried to give a more lighter touch to what seemed to be a diplomatic embarrassment for the world's only superpower.

On Monday, visitors to Wall Street saw the famous Charging Bull sculpture with unique decors. While a bare-bodied man sat atop the statue wearing a mask of Putin, the rest of the animal's body was covered with colourful sex toys.

The prank staged by Jetton was interpreted by some as a commentary on how the Russian president seemed to be "controlling" the US, a HuffPost article said.

Jetton told HuffPost that he agreed with that statement, but wants to let people construe the prank as they see fit, the article said. He also said that he used more than 130 dildos to decorate the statue and all the toys were donated by an adult entertainment firm.

"Anybody who tells you sex toys aren't good tools of resistance has never had a bag of dicks and a little bit of ingenuity," HuffPost quoted Jetton as saying.

Jetton was reportedly contacted by the New York Police Department (NYPD) on Tuesday, July 17, but the officers were more entertained to see his act, he said, according to the report. Jetton believed the law-keepers called him more for a "non-criminal code violation".

"NYPD just invited me into the 1st precinct on Monday to receive a summons for my work as Putin on the Wall Street Charging Bull. I assume that's some kind of award?" he tweeted with the photo of the act.

According to a Daily Beast report, Jetton, who runs a ramen shop in Washington DC, tried to probe possible connections between Trump and Russia using whatever information is available in public.

The American establishment was left in shock after Trump refused to stand by the intelligence of his own country over the report of Russia's alleged interference in its 2016 presidential election and was more convinced by Putin's denial over the same. Trump was later seen controlling the damage inflicted on his own side by saying he misspoke on the occasion and uttered the word "would" instead of "wouldn't" ["I don't see any reason why it would be"].
