Air China cancels Beijing-Pyongyang flights
China had earlier banned all imports of North Korean coal on Feb. 26, cutting off the country's most important export product.
China's national airline Air China on Friday announced that it has cancelled all the flights flying to the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.
According to a report by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, the airline has suspended all flights flying from Beijing to Pyongyang due to poor demand.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Air China's communications team said,"Air China did not stop operation of the Beijing to Pyongyang route, but temporarily cancelled some flights based on the situation of ticket sales.''
The announcement came hours after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that a conflict over North Korea could break out 'at any moment'.
This is not the first time China had earlier banned all imports of North Korean coal on Feb. 26, cutting off the country's most important export product.
