After Trump-Kim summit, both sides hail talks; N Korea state media praises Kim
The sweet hangover of US President Donald Trump's historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un continued on Wednesday, June 13, with both sides hailing the talks.
North Korea's state media KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) praised the summit as one ending the hostile relations between Pyongyang and Washington and credited Kim with a diplomatic victory.
The KCNA gave detailed and glowing account of the talks, naming the supreme leader several times, while the front page of the Rodong Sinmun, the newspaper of the ruling workers' party, described the occasion as the "meeting of the century" and carried photographs of the two leaders shaking hands. Never before in the history of the world did a US president meet a North Korean dictator.
KCNA also added that the talks were "epoch-making" and would help achieve "a radical switchover" in the hostile relations between the US and North Korea. It gave Kim the credit for creating conditions for peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and also praised Trump for "appreciating" that such a conducive atmosphere had been created in the peninsula and the region.

The KCNA was also jubilant over the fact that some quarters saw a quick transformation in Kim from a hated dictator to a statesman after the positive reception he got at the summit in Singapore.
It added that both leaders invited each other to their respective countries and they were readily accepted.
North Korea reaffirmed its commitment towards denuclearisation in a joint declaration after the summit although analysts wondered how it would be served since no details were offered besides generic statements.
Meanwhile, Trump also called the summit historic in a tweet he posted on Wednesday.
