After the Westgate Mall attack, militants strike again near border
Kenyan police officers said that there were two attacks, one on Wednesday night, on a group of police officers, and the other on early Thursday where a police camp was raided.
Though it may be too early to determine who was behind the attacks, but fingers pointed out to the Al-Shabab, the Somali militant group that has claimed responsibility for the Westgate mall attachk, that left 60 dead.
This is not the first instance of attacks that the border region is experiencing. According to reports, there have been small scale attacks, along the border by militants for years. There have been reports of toursist and aid workers being attacked and arrested from along the border.
The Nairobi Westgate mall attack carried by Al-Shabab killed 72 and injured hundreds including seven Indians.
