Washington, March 3: Following the killing of an Indian in Kansas, 25 senators have urged the Donald Trump administration to respond to the rise in hate violence across the country.

In a letter to the Attorney General Jeff Sessions, 25 senators said that there has been an alarming rise in bias motivated violence. BuzzFeed, news while quoting the letter said, "Many members of racial, ethnic and religious minority communities, as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, live in very real fear for their safety."

Trump admin urged to stop hate crimes

Further urging the Trump administration to address concerns of fear, the letter said that it is incumbent upon you as our nation's chief law enforcement officer to demonstrate to them and all Americans that discrimination and violence against any individual because of who they are, how they worship, or who they love will not be tolerated in our country."

The letter comes in the backdrop of various incidents of hate crime being reported in the US. Many Jewish community centres have received bomb threats.

The Kansas incident in which an Indian engineer was killed is also being investigated as a hate crime by the FBI. Trump in his first address to the Congress had condemned both the attack at Kansas and on Jewish centres.
