After election candidate, now a Pak reporter makes headline for unique act

Lahore, July 4: After Ayaz Memon Motiwala, an independent election candidate from Karachi caught all eyes recently by carrying out a unique campaigning by sitting in a manhole, sewage water and garbage pit while canvassing for votes for the July 25 elections in Pakistan, now a journalist has been seen reporting about the flood in Lahore city by sitting on inflatable baby water rides in the middle of an inundated road.

The video of the unique reporting has become viral and created a buzz on social networking sites.

In the video, the reporter is heard saying with a microphone in his hand that although he might seem that he is sitting in a swimming pool, he is actually floating in the middle of a road in Lahore, submerged in flood caused by heavy rain.

The flood conditions in Lahore have become an issue of political blame game ahead of the July 25 national and provincial elections in Pakistan.

Shehbaz slams caretaker govt

On Tuesday, July 3, former chief minister of Punjab, of which Lahore is the capital, Shehbaz Sharif accused the caretaker government for the situation. Shehbaz, brother of former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif, visited his constituency NA-132 in the city after the rain. He told Geo News that the interim government, which is in power till a new administration takes charge, did not make any arrangements ahead of the rains despite being in power for almost a month now.

At least six people, including two policemen, were killed in various incidents after heavy rain lashed the city since Monday (July 2) night.
