Washington, June 2: Days after the killing of a 17-year-old gorilla in his exhibit in Cincinnati zoo in the US caused an outrage, a video surfaced showing a similar incident happening in another zoo in the same country---but with a distinct outcome, a Washington Post report said.

A three-year-old boy had fallen from his mother's lap into a gorilla pit at the Brookefield Zoo in Illinois on a hot afternoon on 1996. But instead of doing any harm to the boy, one of the apes took the boy up and carried him to paramedics and became internationally famous.

The video posted by WGN-TV showed the moment when Binti Jua, a rare western lowland gorilla, eight-year-old then, picking up the boy after he fell down through 15 feet onto the concrete floor.

According to witnesses, the ape ensured that the boy was fine and walked him around. She did this with her own 17-month-old baby on her back.

The boy had sustained minor injuries but recovered, WGN-TV reported.

Dear Harambe, you didn't deserve it.
