Are the clean chits to politicians linked to an alliance with the BJP
New Delhi, Nov 26: Just 48 hours after senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government in Maharashtra, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday dropped nine cases against the deputy chief minister.
However, the Anti-Corruption Bureau denied any connection between the recent political developments in the state and the closure of the cases.
However, Monday's developments raise several questions regarding the timing of the decision.
From former Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy to former Congress leader Himanta Biswa Sarma, there are a few instances where politicians got relief from major corruption cases that could mar their political careers.
