Yeddyurappa
New Delhi, Dec 5: All eyes were set on New Delhi where a crucial meeting between KJP leader BS Yeddyurappa and BJP president Rajnath Singh is expected to be held late on Thursday, Dec 5. According to sources, the KJP leader, who earlier had quit BJP citing betrayal, might be invited to join the party again.

There were reports regarding Yeddyurappa's decision of joining BJP. However, he has overruled such reports calling it "baseless speculations." Yeddyurappa had formed KJP and contested in Karnataka assembly election against BJP.

Yeddyurappa's revolt proved costly for BJP which lost power to Congress in Karnataka. BJP had succeeded to form government on its own in Karnataka with the help of Yeddyurappa. Here it can be mentioned that Karnataka was the one South Indian state where BJP could form government.

Yeddyurappa, a powerful Lingayat leader, however, later was forced to resign from CM post following several corruption issues. He was arrested and later was released on bail. Soon after his release from prison, Yeddyurappa resigned from BJP.

Now, it seems that both Yeddyurappa and BJP leaders realised that they are incomplete without each other. Co-incidentally, Yeddyurappa is believed to be a supporter of Narendra Modi, PM candidate of BJP for Lok Sabha election which is expected to be held by May 2014. Hence, it is believed that the Lingayat leader may rejoin BJP extending his support to Modi.
