Youth Congress protests against RSS Chief's army remark despite clarification
The Indian Youth Congress on February 12 staged a protest and disrupted traffic in Delhi against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remark on the Indian Army, despite a clarification by Mohan Bhagwat himself.
Bhagwat had said that the RSS even though not a military organisation follows military discipline and if the Constitution permits, can prepare an army within six to seven months. This comment riled the Congress and evoked a stern response from party president Rahul Gandhi himself. Who seeked an apology from RSS.
On February 12, a day after the RSS Chief's remark made in Bihar, the RSS issued a clarificatiom saying that the RSS had no intention of hurting the sentiment of the Army.
Despite the clarification, Youth Congress workers staged a protest infront of their office and planned on walking to the RSS office to mark the protest.
Delhi police was quick to contain the situation and detained the protestors in no time. Traffic disruption has also been resolved.
