In this backdrop, a meeting of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board too has been scheduled to discuss the issue. The board had vehemently opposed a ban on triple talaq, citing the Quran. However several others say that there is no such mention in the Quran.

With regard to the decision by the board there was some amount of confusion recently. The board's vice-president, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq clarified that the media had quoted him wrongly, saying that he had promised to end triple talaq soon.
