Why Ashok Khemka gets hurt when others call him 'whistleblower' officer?
Chandigarh, Apr 9: Known for his impeccable integrity, senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka has always been a bureaucrat of the highest order, who performs his duty with effective honesty.
Khemka, who recently expressed his pain over being transferred from the post of Commissioner-Secretary Haryana Transport department, tweeted on Wednesday saying that he is pained to be called a 'whistle blower'.
"Hurt when labelled whistle-blower officer. I do what is expected of public servants. Not doing so would be misconduct," he tweeted.
He was reacting to the news of him being called a whistleblower after his latest transfer to Archaeology and Museums department.

Unlike others in bureaucratic fraternity who enjoy cozy relationships with top political brass, Khemka's "in-your-face style of working" has given him 45th transfer in 24 years of service. [The long and short of IAS officer Ashok Khemka's career]
His longest tenure has been in Culture and Archives Administration, a department under Archives and Archaeology where he served around 18 months.
Khemka, who has a doctorate in Computer Science besides a Master's degree in Economics and an MBA degree, shot into limelight after he questioned Congress party President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's land deals in Haryana.
Khemka, had also received death threats, soon after he came out against Vadra-DLF deals.
Khemka's latest transfer had created a furore in the country, with many calling it as a vindictive treatment for an honest upright IAS officer.
BJP earlier had downplayed the incident terming it as a routine transfer. [Whistleblower IAS officer Ashok Khemka transferred yet again; BJP downplays it
