When Chandan Mitra angered BJP's supporters on social media
New Delhi, Dec 8: Veteran journalist and BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Chandra Mitra is under the eye of storm for one of his comment. On social media, BJP supporters are slamming and demanding his resignation for the same.
Reportedly, while participating in a TV debate on Monday he said that foreign policies are not decided by Twitterati. Apparently this comment didn't augur down well among BJP's supporters.
When a renowned journalist asked whether social media and political rhetoric influences the country's policies, Mitra said,
"I don't think any government can actually frame its foreign policy on the basis of the Twitterati, which is hyperbolic at times", Mitra said when a renowned journalist asked whether social media and political rhetoric influences the country's policies.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the way people become hyper about any issue on social mediar, he further said, "People having nothing better to do express their opinions on various subjects".
