West Bengal: Miscreants vandalise Netaji's statue on Independence Day
Some unknown persons threw black ink and also broke the nose of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's statue at BDO office in West Bengal's Birbhum district on Tuesday.

The statue was supposed to be unveiled on Independence Day at Panchra village but was smeared with coal tar and the face was partly damaged. The statue was installed in the Panchra village panchayat office compound for the Independence Day function.
Earlier on Tuesday, when the staff opened up the gate, they noticed the vandalism of the statue and informed authorities.
Angry villagers let by the panchayat pradhan filed a police complaint at the Khairasole police station against unknown persons for damaging the statue.
According to a senior police officer,"Investigation has been started to find out the miscreants and motive behind this crime".
