UP: Employee suspended for wearing rings
Lucknow, Oct 29: Wearing too many gold rings has cost a government employee in Uttar Pradesh his job as it irked the state's Minister for Secondary Education Mehboob Ali. Rajmani Mishra working in Uttar Pradesh education department in Barabanki district, was reportedly sacked for wearing eight rings in his fingers.

The minister has reportedly presumed that wearing too many rings indicates that the employee was indulged into corrupt practices. The minister, who conducted a surprise inspection at the government school, was miffed at seeing so much in the hands of an accountant.

The minister immediately summoned the senior district education officials present there and asked them to suspend Mishra, reports said.

The minister later clarified that Mishra was suspended on charges of laxity. However, the sources maintained that the real reason for Mishra's suspension was ring. Reports say after looking at the employees fingers minister Ali inquired about his salary and said he must be corrupt.

Though the minister later clarified that he had ordered suspension of Mishra on charges of laxity, sources in the education department said that the real reason behind the suspension was the ring and the band.

Mishra, however, denied from allegations of laxity and expressed his shock for irking the minister by simply wearing rings.
