WB Panchayat Polls: Re-polling underway at booth number 79, 80 in Jalpaiguri's Ambikanagar
Re-polling is underway for West Bengal Panchayat Elections 2018 at booth number 79 and 80 in Jalpaiguri's Ambikanagar on the orders of the Election Commission. Heavy police force is deployed at the booth.
The development comes on the allegations of a counting agent of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Doli Sutradhar that he was attacked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters, who also looted ballot papers at the counting room as counting of votes was underway for West Bengal Panchayat Election 2018 Results.
On Monday, the voting for West Bengal Panchayat Election 2018 took place for 621 zilla parishads, over six thousand panchayat samitis, and nearly 31 thousand gram panchayats.
The counting of votes for Panchayat Election in West Bengal began on May 17. It continued for over two days, and the results are yet to be announced.
