Video: Little girl recalls what her martyred armyman dad taught her & it’s touching
New Delhi, Feb 12: It is one of the most touching videos released on the social media in recent times. It is about a little girl who lost her father, an army major who was martyred in Nagrota, Jammu, while fighting terrorists.
The extremists were in police uniforms and attacked an army unit. Major Akshay Girish Kumar, the martyred officer, was in the 51 Engineer Regiment.
He is survived by his wife Sangeeta and daughter Naina. His death had left the family in a lot of pain but then turned their story into one of inspiration for all Indians.

Kumar's mother also contributed to show how much pride the family takes being patriotic and loyal to the army despite the irreparable loss it experienced. Kumar's father and grandfather too had served in the Indian Army.
A year after Akshay's martyrdom, Naina recollects conversations with her papa.

In the 52-second video which was shared by Naina's grandmother on Twitter (she tweets @megirish2001) it is seen the little girl is speaking about the army - the values it holds and what it symbolises - and she also says that she was taught them by her father.
"Army is to make us love. Army is to fight with bad uncles. Army is to help us not get afraid. Army is some who does Jai Hind to everyone," she says.
