Uncertainty over Yogi Adityanath flagging off VHP-led Ram Rajya Rath Yatra from Ayodhya

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will begin its 39-day 'Ram Rajya Rath Yatra' from Ayodhya to Rameswaram on Tuesday. Earlier in was reported that, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be in Ayodhya to inauguarate Ram Rajya Rath Yatra on Tuesday, on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.

Yogi Adityanath to flag-off ‘Ram Rajya Rath Yatra’ today,

The Yatra will commence from Karsevakpuram in Ayodhya and will travel to Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu where it will culminate on March 23.

The 39-day 'Ram Rajya Rath Yatra' will be flagged off from Karsevakpuram, which is a workshop set up in by the VHP in the 1990s.

The Yatra is designed to revive the Ram temple movement in time for the next Lok Sabha elections. However, the organiser of the 'Ram Rajya Rath Yatra' denied having any political motives behind their idea.

Ram Janambhoomi- Babri Masjid dispute is century old point of a tussle between Hindus and Muslims. The mosque was demolished by Hindu Karsevaks on December 6, 1992, in Ayodhya, after which riots broke out in several parts of the country. The Hindus claim that it is the birthplace of Lord Rama where a mosque was built in 1528-29 CE (935 AH) by Mir Baqi.

Why Yogi Adiyanath wull not flag off Ram Rajya Rath Yatra?

Meanwhile, there are reports that Yogi Adityanath will not be flagging off the yatra. According to a report by Hindi news website, amarujala.com, Yogi Adityanath will not attend the flagging off ceremony of the "Ram Rajya Rath Yatra" today. The report says that the organisers of the event didn't get schedule for Yogi's expected vist by 5 pm on Monday.
