Uttar Pradesh: Bill Gates meets CM Adityanath in Lucknow
The Yogi government is aggressively pursuing foreign investments in the industrial sector and would be wooing Gates to set up business in UP.
American business baron Bill Gates on Friday met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at later's office in Lucknow to explore possibilities of investment by his software giant Microsoft in the state.
The Yogi government is aggressively pursuing foreign investments in the industrial sector and would be wooing Gates to set up business in UP. The talks are expected to focus on Microsoft's role in generating job opportunities for youth by setting up software technology facility in the state.

Avnish Awasthi, Principal Secretary, said," Vector-borne diseases, drinking water and sanitation issues, doubling of farmers income and IT Sector were discussed."
"CM told Bill Gates that 92 Lakh children have been vaccinated against Encephalitis. However, he also added that we'll have to work on acute Encephalitis. We have already signed a 5 year MoU with Gates Foundation," said Principal Secretary.
Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to host international foreign investors' summit, which would be attended by leading companies from, among others, Finland, Japan, the United States, Taiwan and Canada.
Later in the day, Microsoft founder Bill Gates will attend the valedictory session of the three-day AP AgTech Summit-2017, organised jointly by the Andhra Pradesh government and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, at the APIIC grounds in Andhra Pradesh.
Gates met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday to discuss investment opportunities. Home Minister Rajnath Singh urged Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates to focus on developing Indian villages into 'model villages' by initiating new technologies in fields of agriculture and sanitation.
