Uttar Pradesh: 2 youths caught with ox-hide; alert Shiv Sena workers get them arrested

Lucknow, Oct 20: Two Muslim youths were allegedly tied to a tree and beaten by some Shiv Sena workers for carrying hide of an ox (bullock) in a gunny bag, in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, the shocking incident happened on Sunday, Oct 18, afternoon, at Ramgaon village of Bahraich district.

The two Muslim youths- Afsar Ali and Pairu, who are in early 20s were assaulted and were handed over to the police.

Both the youths have been booked under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, a report said.

The youths were at a local bar when the ox-hide fell from their bag and Shiv Sena workers, who were present there caught them and thrashed them, before calling the police.

A veterinary doctor was also called to inspect the ox-hide, who confirmed that the skin was freshly peeled off. However, the youths claimed that they purchased it from a local trader to make dhols (drums).

Both of them were produced before a local court and were sent to judicial custody.

Uttar Pradesh unit President of Shiv Sena, Anil Singh also praised the Shiv Sainiks who took the matter to the police.
