Use plastic money, e-Wallets to make toll payments
Placards and posters displayed at many toll booths are encouraging people to make electronic payments
If you have no cash to spare, use e-Wallets to pay toll starting Saturday. Many toll plazas across the country are going the cashless way with Point of Sale swipe machines and e-Wallet payments to make commuting smooth.
With toll collection on National Highways all set to resume post midnight of December 2, toll booths are ensuring multiple payment gateways to avoid logjam and scramble for change. Placards and posters displayed at many toll booths are encouraging people to make electronic payments.
Tolls will also accept demonetised Rs 500 notes till midnight of December 15 in tune with the government's order. This does have a rider. Demonetised Rs 500 will be accpeted only where toll charges are above Rs 200 or to purchase FASTags. Dedicated FASTag lanes have been thrown open for smooth passage of vehicles with prepaid FASTags.
