US: Man shot fatally over texting daughter
According to a report in Times Of India, eyewitnesses say that the shooter first warned the victim by throwing a popcorn at him and then shot at him suddenly, despite Oulsen informing him that he was texting his 3 year old daughter.
Following this, an off-duty deputy detained Reeves until the police arrived.
Narrating the entire incident, an eyewitness said that the men started arguing talking loudly and throwing popcorn at each other. Their spouses joined too when in a fit of rage Reeves pulled out a revolver and shot Oulsen, hitting his wife's hand and him on the chest.
Chad Oulson died at a hospital, but his wife is out of danger. Tampa Police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said in a news release that Reeves was a captain when he retired from the department in 1993.
