UP to publicise govt policies on police caller tunes
Lucknow, Jun 8: Next time you call a policeman in Uttar Pradesh get ready to hear "Yuva Soch, Yuva Josh" in place of the regular caller tune as the state government plans to publicise welfare schemes launched by it.
An official spokesperson of the UP home department said the decision has been made to take forward the government's effort to publicise welfare schemes launched by the Samajwadi Party (SP).
Initially the scheme, with "Yuva Soch, Yuva Josh" theme tune greeting the callers, was launched for the state information department.
Like in the information department, the theme would echo on closed user group (CUG) mobile phones of police officers, the spokesperson said.
The objective was to utilise the waiting period to publicise policies and programmes of the government, he said, adding that in the next phase the scheme would be extended to other departments also.
The spokesman said that besides on the official numbers, the tune could be downloaded by others, but they would be required to pay for that.
