UP minister's convoy mows down 8-yr-old in Gonda, Adityanath demands probe
An eight-year-old boy was killed last night in Gonda district after a senior Uttar Pradesh minister's convoy allegedly ran over him. The boy died on the spot.
The boy was allegedly hit by a car which was part of the convoy of minister Om Prakash Rajbhar. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against unknown people for now.
The police said names will be added after a preliminary investigation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the victim's family and sought a report from the state's police chief.
The incident comes days after the convoy of another Uttar Pradesh minister Jai Kumar Singh drove over the farmland of a farmer in Jalaun district, destroying his crops and offered a paltry compensation of Rs 4,000 in return.
