UP Government suspends billionaire Noida engineer Yadav Singh
Noida, Dec 8: The Uttar Pradesh Government has suspended Noida Authority Chief engineer Yadav Singh who is accused of amassing an undisclosed amount to the tune of Rs 100 crores.
According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh Government has also asked for a report in the case from Noida Development Authority.
Few days back, the I-T department had recovered diamonds worth Rs 100 crore, Rs 10 crore in cash and around 2 kgs of gold from Yadav's residence. Following this, Yadav Singh was removed from the post of Engineer-in-chief of Noida Authority and attached to the personnel department. All tenders issued by Yadav have also been cancelled.
The Supreme Court had appointed a special investigation team in monitoring investigations against Yadav.
Singh has also come under the scanner of the SIT on blackmoney as it has asked the CBDT to share information with ED so that money laundering charges could be pressed against him and his associates.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already begun a probe into the matter.
SIT Chairman Justice (retd) MB Shah held a meeting and reviewed the case with CBDT and I-T officers from the investigations directorate in Lucknow who had carried out raids on Singh's premises and companies.
