UP: German beaten up at Sonbhadra railway station for ignoring a man’s greetings
German national beaten up at Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra railway station on Sunday because he inadvertently ignored a man's greeting.
It is learnt that after getting off a train, the German was looking for directions at the stations to go to Agori fort for his research when Aman Yadav greeted him. The tourist didn't respond and Kumar was offended.
Yadav then pushed him to the ground and slapped him a number of times, police said.
According to the accused,''I am innocent, the German national punched me when i said 'welcome to India' to him. He even spit on me.''
Police have arrested the accused and investigation is underway. This was the second attack on foreign tourists in UP in a fortnight after a Swiss couple - Quentin Jeremy Clerc and girlfriend Marie Droz - was thrashed at Fatehpur Sikri on October 26.
