The BJP has now decided to deploy leaders from Uttar Pradesh for its campaign in Gujarat. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will campaign in Gujarat October 13 and 14 ahead of the assembly elections in the state.
He will address gatherings in south Gujarat on Friday and Saturday as part of the Gujarat Gaurav Yatra being organised by the party.
It may be recalled that during the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had talked about the Uttar Pradesh migrant workers' contribution in Gujarat's development. Modi had said that people from all districts of Uttar Pradesh have moved to Gujarat to do wonders for the state.
Earlier on Thursday, the dates for the election were set to be announced. While the poll panel revealed the schedule for the election in Himachal Pradesh, it postponed the announcement for Gujarat. The EC said the dates will be announced separately but assembly elections in the state will be held before December 18.
