Unnao Rape Case: BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar booked for framing victim's father in false arms case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday booked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is in jail for allegedly raping a teenage girl in Unnao last year, for allegedly conspiring the rape victim's father in an Arms Act case.
The complaint has accused the BJP MLA Sengar of raing the victim at his home in 2014 when she had gone to meet him about a job. The police had booked her father under the Arms Act. He however died in judicial custody on April 9 of severe injuries.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has procured two-day custody of the MLA in the fresh case.
On Wednesday, two cops of Makhi (Unnao) police station were also arrested for allegedly framing the rape victim's father in a false case. They are in a three-day CBI custody since Friday.
In a case that gave way to massive public outrage, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The victim's father died after being reportedly beaten up by the MLA's brother and others. The victim had alleged that the police did not do anything the MLA. The CBI arrested Kuldeep Singh Sengar on April 13.
