Under BJP cows getting more protection than women says Shiv Sena
Mumbai, July 23: The Shiv Sena has once again hit out at its ally, the BJP and said that cows were getting more protection in the country than women. Shiv Sena chief, Udhav Thackeray in an interview to Saamna, the mouthpiece of the party said he did not accept the BJP's version of Hindutva.
I don't accept the Hindutva that is being adhered to in the country for the past three to four years. That is not our idea of Hindutva. Our women are unsafe today and you are protecting cows. You cannot target people for eating preferences, he also said.
The comments come a day after BJP president, Amit Shah told party workers that there would be no alliance with the Shiv Sena in 2019. Thackeray went on to add that his party had supported the BJP openly in the past. Now we will oppose them openly as well he added.
