Two bombs found in Bodhgaya despite tight security for Dalai Lama
Two crude bombs have been found at Bodhgaya in Bihar on Friday evening. The recovery of the bombs were made just after spiritual leader Dalai Lama had retired for the day.
The search operations were carried out after a small explosion took place at a kitchen set up at the Kaalchintan ground, causing panic among the devotees.
The bombs were found from the vicinity of the Kalachakra ground during an intensive combing operation by a police team led by DIG (Patna Range) Vinay Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Patna Zone, N H Khan said.
The IGP also said that during the search they had found a burst thermos flask and this could have caused the sound. A team of forensic sciences experts are at the spot and are ascertaining the nature of the bombs that were recovered.
It may be recalled that in 2013, Bodhgaya had been rocked by a series of explosions in which five persons were injured. It was found later that the explosions were triggered off by members of the Students Islamic Movement of India in retaliation to the Rohingya crisis.
