Twitter to have new policy on abuse, hate tweets after #WomenBoycottTwitter

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Saturday announced on his Twitter timeline that over the next few weeks new rules will be framed against 'unwanted sexual advances, non-consensual nudity, hate symbols, violent groups, and tweets that glorifies violence.'

The move comes a day after thousands boycotted the platform standing in solidarity with actress Rose McGowan after her Twitter account was partially suspended for tweeting about Harvey Weinstein.

Jack Dorsey acknowledged the protest that trended all day and assured of a "more aggressive" stance.

He reiterated that the company has been working to counteract voices being silenced on Twitter every day for the last two years. Stating that it was made Twitter's top priority in 2017, Jack said that the company has decided to take a more aggressive stance on "our rules and how we enforce them".

The new rules on abuse and hate tweets will start rolling in the next few days and more information on the same will be shared.
