Mumbai: Famous actor Rajat Tokas suffers heat stroke, admitted to hospital

Mumbai, April 15: Popular TV actor Rajat Tokas, who plays the role of Mughal Emperor Akbar in TV series "Jodha Akbar, was recently rushed to a hospital after he suffered a heat stroke.

The incident happened on Sunday, April 11, when Rajat was shooting outdoors for some sequences and suddenly, he started feeling nauseous.

Then, the production crew members took him to the Seven Hills hospital.

Doctors performed a thorough check-up on Rajat and concluded that the young actor had suffered heat stroke.

Namit Sharma, programming head, Zee TV, said in a statement, "We take utmost care to ensure that actors are not exposed to undue heat or any other discomfort while shooting and the sets are centrally air-conditioned."

"However, in this instance, Rajat was required to shoot outdoors for one scene and it's unfortunate that he suffered a stroke. He was immediately rushed for medical help and it's touching to see his dedication in getting back on the sets and resuming shoot, even though, he's been advised rest."

Rajat is said to be fine now and is back on the sets. The show is shot at the ND Studio in Karjat, near Mumbai.

Delhi boy Rajat Tokus got immense fame due to his impeccable portrayal of mythological characters.

In 2006, he portrayed the character of Prithvi Raj Chauhan, Veer in DharamVeer and presently he is showing his acting prowess as Akbar in Jodha Akbar.

Rajat has bagged many awards for his challenging roles, that he plays with panache.

In January this year, Rajat got married to his long time girlfriend and theatre actor Srishti Nayyar. The duo got engaged on April 9, 2014, after dating for more than a year.
