Triple talaq petitioner Ishrat Jahan's children missing
Ishrat Jahan was on one of the five women petitioners in the triple talaq case.
Triple talaq victim Ishrat Jahan has reached Golabari Police Station in Howrah to register a complaint as her two children allegedly went missing on Thursday.
Ishrat Jahan was on one of the five women petitioners in the triple talaq case.
Two days after the Supreme Court judgment, Ishrat Jahan asked Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for protection, saying she had faced condemnation and attacks from members of her community, especially her husband's family.
Her family members and neighbours, reportedly furious at her for fighting the case in court, have decided to ostracize her.
"Ever since the Supreme Court verdict has come in, it has opened floodgates of expletives, insulting remarks and comments targeted at my character assassination from my neighbours and in-laws," Jahan told the Times Of India.
Ishrat Jahan was divorced by her husband from Dubai and abruptly ended their marriage of 15 years by simply saying "talaq" three times.
