During the arguments, the the AWBI also requested the court not to permit the centre to withdraw the notification on Jallikattu. The centre had told the SC on Tuesday that it was withdrawing the notification as a bill had been passed by TN. The AWBI said that the centre made the submission with the intention of making the petition infructuous. Since there are other prayers involved in the matter, the notification should not be withdrawn, the petitioners also submitted.
