TN: State govt not taking up Cauvery issue properly with Centre, says Dhinakaran
MLA and former AIADMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Friday said that state government is not taking up Cauvery issue with the Centre because they don't want any problems to be created to the BJP party in Karnataka.
Speaking to ANI, Dhinakaran said,''If I want I can get Government dissolved but many MLAs are sending me feelers asking me not to do it yet, they said we will throw out those anti-Amma people from Govt soon.
''BJP is at the Centre and same party is going in elections in Karnataka so this TN Govt doesnt want any problems to be created due to the Cauvery issue for BJP in Karnataka and that is why they have not taken up this issue properly with Centre,'' TTV Dinakaran further said.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday said the state government would approach the Supreme Court to get its share of Cauvery water from Karnataka.
Dhinakaran wanted removal of six Ministers ('betrayers') from the Cabinet and one of his 18 disqualified MLAs be appointed Chief Minister. Dinakaran however did not name the 'betrayers'.
