Bhubaneswar, May 16: The summer has left us all tired and drained. With no sign of 'heat wave' ending in the near future, there seems to be no respite from the astronomical rise in temperatures for both men and animals.

However, it seems white tigers of the famous zoo in Odisha-- Nandankanan Zoological Park--are not much affected by the rise in temperature. The keepers of the zoo have devised a perfect mechanism to help the carnivores stay cool in the summer.

Photographs by PTI showcased how white tigers of the zoo, located in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar--the capital city of Odisha--chilled by sitting on ice blocks on Monday.

The keepers of the zoo provided huge ice blocks inside the cages of these magnificent mammals so that the animals could have some respite from the heat. According to the meteorological department, Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius on Monday.

The residents of the national capital had a horrific Monday, as the mercury rose to almost 45 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Chennai too had a bad Monday, as the city recorded its highest temperature this month on Monday, when the mercury jumped to 41.1 degrees Celsius.

However, Banda in Uttar Pradesh at 47 degree Celsius recorded the highest temperature in the country on Monday.
