There is no rift in BJD: Senior leader Tathagat Satpathy
Satpathy some days ago in a series of Twitter posts had said that the BJP was trying to break the BJD like AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.
Bhubaneswar, April 5: Senior BJD MP Tathagat Satpathy on Wednesday said that none can break the Biju Janata Dal and the entire party stands behind Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Satpathy said this during his visit to the state secretariat in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday evening. "There is no rift in the BJD. No one can break the BJD," Satpathy, the BJD's chief whip in the Lok Sabha said.
Claiming that there was no rift within the BJD and all are behind Patnaik, the Dhenkanal MP said that the BJD was strong enough with the blessings of Lord Jagannath. "BJD will stay. The party is united. No one has the strength to break the BJD," said Satpathy.
However, Satpathy some days ago in a series of Twitter posts had said that the BJP was trying to break the BJD like AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. Satpathy's statement came a few hours after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik described Union Minister Jual Oram's remark on the BJD as wishful thinking.
In view of BJD's loss in the panchayat elections and the BJP's triumph in UP Assembly polls, Oram had yesterday said that some BJD MPs and MLAs were interested to join the BJP.
