New Delhi, Oct 2:The Cabinet meeting is over and inside sources say that the Bill and the Ordinance both have been withdrawn.

In a cabinet meeting at 4 pm, the Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh spoke to the UPA Allies and as per reports, most of them have agreed to the withdrawal of the Bill. In fact, RLD chief Ajit Singh said that there was nothing wrong in withdrawing the ordinance.

At around 4:45 pm, The Union Government decided to withdraw the ordinance, deciding to seek the legal advice of Attorney General GE Vahanvati. Among those present at the Cabinet meeting, at 6 pm in 7 Race Course Road, were Sharad Pawar, Ajit Singh, and Farooq Abdullah. Despite their unhappiness regarding the ordinance drama within the UPA between the Prime Minister and the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, the Bill and the Ordinance were both trashed.

Earlier today, Sharad Pawar said that the Ordinance should have been discussed

internally before being discussed out in the open. His expression of displeasure was evident even when he came out after the meeting. Although he refused to say anything on the Bill, the results were showing clearly on his face.

Manish Tewari, however, confirmed saying that the Bill and the Ordinance have been trashed in a media conference after the meeting.
