Tata Steel removes Cyrus Mistry as Chairman

Mumbai, Nov 25 Tata Steel removed Cyrus Mistry as chairman of its board and replaced him with O P Bhatt. Mistry was removed as chairman in a board meeting held in Mumbai on Friday.

Cyrus Mistry was also removed as head of Tata Sons recently. The board of Tata Steel has decided to remove Mistry and Nusli Wadia an independent director from the board of Tata Steel in an extraordinary general meeting to be held on December 21.
This move is in continuation of dramatic events which began with the removal of Cyrus Mistry as the chairman of Tata Sons. Ratan Tata has replaced him as interim chairman of Tata Sons.
The event has led to bitter struggle between the groups that supports Ratan Tata and Cyrus Mistry.
Tata Sons is seeking removal of Mistry from all his positions in the operating group of Tata firms.
