"Hasina always tried to ignore that Islamization started in Bangladesh and also that fundamentalists are rising and terrorists are growing," she said.

The writer said that her country has no freedom of expression as is evident in murders of bloggers and writers. "There is no freedom of expression in Bangladesh. Nasreen said home grown terrorists were behind the terror attack in Dhaka, which killed 28 people including one Indian.

This is however not the first time that Nasreen has criticised the Bangladeshi government of inaction.

Earlier when LGBT magazine editor Zulhas Mannan and his friend Tanay Majumder were killed on April 25, Nasreen had expressed her anger and accused Sheikh Hasina of being a jihadist sympathiser.

"Hasina made no statement, took no action against jihadis who killed progressive people in Bangladesh. Hasina is a jihadi sympathizer," she said in a tweet.
