Swami Aseemanand to walk out of jail: Gets bail in Mecca Masjid case
Swami Aseemanand has been granted bail in the Mecca Masjid blast case. As a result of this order, he can walk free. The bail order comes a week after he was acquitted of all charges in the Ajmer blasts case. He is likely to be released on Thursday.
Nine persons had died after an improvised explosive device was detonated inside the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad. Aseemanand was chargesheeted by the National Investigation Agency. He had given a confession statement admitting to his role in the blasts, but the same was retracted later on.
Aseemanand is also a co-accused in the Malegaon and Samjautha blasts case. In the Samjautha case, he was granted bail in September. Aseemanand's arrest had created a furore. His confessional statement too had become a subject matter of debate. He had however retracted his statements before the court.
