A Facebook page named ‘Roji Roy' has been created for the the 19-year-old nursing student. The campaigners claim that she died under mysterious circumstances. The campaigners say that Roji sounded happy and cheerful while speaking to her relatives, a few minutes before her death.
According to the KIMS hospital authorities, Roji's death was a suicide. She jumped off the tenth floor of the hospital after her college principal sought an explanation from her over a complaint filed by a group of first-year students alleging that she had ragged them, they say. But the social media campaigners and Roji's parents suspect a foul play.
Roji's parents are visually and speech impaired. The social media campaigners have voices their protest against KIMS hospital where Roji worked. Countless posts which are taking rounds on Facebook say that media is hushing up the crime involved to protect the hospital which is a major "corporate establishment" in the city.
The hospital authorities cleared the blood stains from the scene before the police arrived, says the FB page. The social media campaigners and Roji's parents staged a protest march in Kollam, seeking an in-depth probe.
They also allege that the principal left for a US trip on the day of the alleged suicide. However, management and police say the principal cancelled the US trip after she was informed of the death.
