Subrata Roy enjoyed special privileges in high security ward in Tihar jail: Report
New Delhi, Dec 7: Sahara Group and former business tycoon Subrata Roy is allegedly paying Rs 1.23 crore for availing special facilities in Delhi's Tihar jail.
As per a report published in TOI, the exorbitant amount of Rs 1.23 crore is normally used to take care of 200 jail inmates, jail authorities said.
On Nov 12, 2015, Roy was shifted to a normal cell froma high security ward.

After seeking the permission from the Supreme Court had allowed Roy to use conference room to negotiate the sale of his luxury hotels in New York and London, to collect fund for his bail .
Roy had used privileged services like Wi-Fi connection and video-conferencing in his high profile ward.
As per report, Roy was given a fully air-conditioned cell, with two laptops, two desktops, landline phones and a cellphone.
After he was brought back to normal cell, all of his privileged services were terminated, as per court's order.
Roy has been in Tihar jail since March 4, 2014, along with two directors -- Ashok Roy Choudhary and Ravi Shankar Dubey.
