Stone pelter turned terrorist arrested in J&K
Before joining militancy Basit Najar was a notorious stone pelter.
A stone pelter who joined the Lashkar-e-Tayiba has been arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir police. Basit Najar was arrested in Sopore and a pistol was recovered from him.
On questioning the said person revealed that he along with his associate Danish Mantoo of Sopore recently joined the Lashkar. It is pertinent to mention that photo's of Basit Najar holding a pistol recently surfaced on social networking sites, the police said in a release.
Before joining militancy Basit Najar was a notorious stone pelter. He was also instrumental in organising incidents of stone pelting and also motivating the youth to undertake violence, the police also said. The police said that there were several videos of him in circulation in which he is seen orchestrating violence and also taking part in militant funerals in the Valley.
