Soldier's suicide over OROP unfortunate: Anna Hazare
Hazare said that he was sad if the government had not implemented the OROP scheme
Ralegan Siddhi, Nov 2: Social activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday termed the suicide of an ex-armyman demanding implementation of 'One Rank One Pension (OROP)' in Delhi as very unfortunate, and hoped that the government implements the pension scheme.
"If that soldier (ex-armyman Ram Kishan Grewal) committed suicide fighting for OROP, then it's very unfortunate," Hazare told media channel Times Now.
"I am part of the OROP movement. Government said that it had implemented OROP, but if it hasn't then it's very bad," he added.
Ram Kishan Grewal who was part of the protest to demand One Rank One Pension for the armed forces committed suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday evening in a park in Delhi.
