Shiv Sena to fight 2019 Assembly, Lok Sabha elections alone: Raut
ditya Thackeray, grandson of Bal Thackeray, has been named the member of Shiv Sena's National Executive
On the occasion of birth anniversary of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, the party announced that it would fight 2019 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections alone.
Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut moved a resolution that it would fight 2019 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections alone. The decision of Shiv Sena to go alone in 2019 was taken in the Party's national executive meet.
Also, Aditya Thackeray, grandson of Bal Thackeray, has been named the member of Shiv Sena's National Executive.

Shiv Sena and BJP came together to rule Maharashtra in mid-90s with Sena playing the dominant role in the state politics.
BJP pulled out of the alliance to emerge as the single largest party in the last Assembly elections. Sena and BJP, however, cobbled an alliance after the polls to form the government with BJP bagging the CM's post. The two parties also contested the BMC elections separately.
