New Delhi, Sept 21: New revelation has come to fore in Sheena Bora murder case which may further complicate the sensational murder mystery. At a time when the case has been handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation, startling fact has emerged out.

Reportedly, the forensic experts of the B Y L Nair Hospital have informed the Khar police that recently submitted ‘body remains' of Sheena Bora to J J hospital may not be same as collected by the Pen Police in 2012.

Another twist in Sheena murder case

According to TOI report, the experts believes that samples received have been mixed up and it may not belong to Sheena Bora, who was allegedly murdered by her mother and INX co-founder Indrani Mukherjea.

Expressing shock over the development, the Nair hospital doctors have said they didn't receive the same set of remains what the Pen police had mentioned in their inventory and post-mortem report.

Nair hospital's revealations

This revelation may weaken the forensic re-creation of the crime as police already has established DNA match between Sheena Bora and Indrani from the body remains.

The 26-page report, submitted recently by the Nair Hospital to Khar police tells how J J hospital casually dealt with the matter. Brooding over the callous paperwork, the Hospital (Nair) has requested the police to seek DNA profiling of the bones to do away with the confusion.

"JJ Hosiptal gave the Khar police multiple teeth, bones from chest and vertebrae, and some charred skin. These were not the remains mentioned in the Pen report. The humerus was not there in the JJ samples. It seems that JJ doctors neither documented what was given to them in 2012 nor what they handed over to the Khar police in 2015," said a doctor. "It is clear that we are dealing with two different sets of remains," the doctor at Nair hospital said.

However, the refuting the allegation of carelessness in the matter the J J Hospital authorities has said that they submitted what was been handed over by the pen police to them.

Taking the matter seriously the police has said that it will tell J J hospital to cross check the samples.

A police official was quoted by the TOI saying, "As the bones were at JJ Hospital for a long time there is a possibility that they may have got mixed with samples of other case and hence we have written to them asking to check their record and find whose parts it could be".

When J J Hospital submitted report

On August 28, the Sir J.J. Hospital authorities had handed over the samples of bones, nails and other evidence in its possession to Khar police. The hospital also said it had filed a report in 2012 on how the samples received were charred beyond recognition and they could not identify them. The development had led to speculation whether this could be a goof-up or a meticulous cover-up operation.

Sheena was killed on April 24, 2012 and her remains were discovered near the Pen forests on May 23, 2012.

Her mother Indrani, her ex-husband Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai have been arrested in connection with the murder and are in police custody.
