Shame: PDP MLA flaunts misuse of power, openly brandishes AK-47
An image has surfaced on social media which shows Mir holding an AK-47 and standing casually next to an armed personnel.
Mir drew flak for act from several quarters. Putting his defence, he said that he was under threat and carried the weapon only for self defence.
He also said that he has done nothing wrong and that every child in Kashmir has grown seeing the guns.

as
saying
in
media
reports.
The
picture
has
surfaced
just
a
few
days
before
the
Assembly
polls
in
the
State.
The
five-phase
polling
to
elect
the
87-member
Assembly
will
be
held
between
November
25
and
December
20.
Earlier, National Conference leader Nasir Aslam Wani's son was seen brandishing a gun. His photo went viral on social networking sites.
Meanwhile, the Centre has decided to deploy over a large number of central paramilitary forces' personnel for ensuring free and fair elections in the valley.
