As soon as the announcement of liberation of Mosul was made by the Iraq PM, the government activated various channels for locating the 39 Indians, the MEA had said on Monday.

"The search is underway to locate 39 missing Indians in Iraq's Mosul. The Government is not misleading the nation," the BJP president, who is on a 110-day visit to all states, said in Jaipur on Saturday.

Earlier, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had assured that all possible efforts were being made by her ministry to bring back the Indians who were abducted by terror group ISIS from a construction site in Mosul.

Families of 39 Indians who went missing in Iraq three years ago are looking forward to some positive news after the Iraqi forces captured Mosul from where their kin were kidnapped by the ISIS in June 2014.

The Union minister said that she had also directed the Indian embassy to extend all help to the stranded people from the country.
