Senior Congress leader shot dead in South Kashmir by terrorists
A senior Congress leader was shot dead at Rajpora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. He succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
Officials said that the gunmen fired at the vehicle of Ghulam Nabi Patel at the Rajpora chown and also injured his two guards, Imtiyaz Ahmad and Bilal Ahmed Lone.
Patil, a resident of Dangerpora Shadimarg was associated with the Congress Party. After being shot at he was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
A police spokesman, in a statement, said that the militants fired upon a vehicle at Rajpura chowk in which Ghulam Nabi Patel resident of Dangerpora Shadimarg and two policemen got injured. Ghulam Nabi Patel succumbed to his injuries in the fatal attack, the statement also read.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti said in a tweet, "heartfelt condolences to family of senior Congress leader, G N Patel who was killed by militants in Rajpora. Such cowardly acts achieve nothing by leave one more family devastated."
